“Cop Stop” is a disturbing first-person narrative told from the perspective of Robert Teasdale, a supposed police officer who is also a serial rapist. The story details how he uses his position of authority to prey on a young woman named Linda Paterson, whom he pulls over for speeding on a deserted road at night.

The narrative follows Teasdale’s methodical approach to stalking his victim and escalating the situation from a routine traffic stop to a violent sexual assault. After pulling her over, he intimidates Linda, performs a degrading “search” that involves sexual assault, and eventually forces her into the vehicle, where he does his worst, physically and psychologically tormenting her.

The story is characterized by its graphic descriptions of sexual violence and the narrator’s complete lack of remorse. Teasdale views his actions as “teaching lessons” to women or men he believes are entitled. The narrative ends with him leaving Linda bruised and violated on the roadside, threatening her with death if she reports the assault, before driving away satisfied with having “put another bitch in her place.”

The story is an unflinching portrayal of sexual violence from the perpetrator’s perspective, exploring themes of power, abuse of authority, and extreme misogyny.
