The Sadie Hawkins Day dance had been cancelled due to Covid. Bobby was bummed because his girl friend had told him that, since Sadie Hawkins was all about the girl making the rules, that she would give him her virginity after the dance. He was so bummed out by the ruination of their romantic plans that his mother, Helen, suggested she would be his date for the dance, which they would hold at home. It would be just the two of them, but it was better than nothing. The problem was that Bobby harbored the same kind of feelings for his mom as he did for his girlfriend. When, during the dance, he reacted physically while dancing with Helen, she decided it wasn't a problem.
