What if you could remember the future? You are standing in front of a bookshelf, and can clearly remember a potential future you pulling each book from the shelf and reading it. That knowledge is already at your fingertips, without having to actually put in the work. Is it a blessing? Is it a curse to know exactly what will happen every moment of every day? If you could always make the most Perfect Choice, then do you still have free will?

John Cook is 7 years old when he suddenly gains the ability to remember the future. Not just the next day, but every possible future that could possibly happen. This long series runs from its beginning in 1984 Oklahoma forward through history as he makes Perfect Choices. Volume 1 covers 1984 as he works to establish his intelligence, and make his Dad happy by being the first male in his family to graduate high school. A slice of life, warm and uplifting story of a family trying to deal with a young child who suddenly is too smart for his own good.

Originally written as a series of eight short novellas in 2018, this series has been hugely expanded and rewritten by the original author into an exciting series of more than a dozen novels that will keep you intrigued and entertained until the very end.

Improving a Story

Reviewed it on October 23, 2025

The first time you read a story your mind fixes most mistakes automatically, at least in my opinion. In this case the basic story line remains regardless of corrections to the text itself as originally posted on storiesonline. This series is a good story and worth it especially if you have not previously read it. I paid money for it mostly because I appreciate the author who originally spent the time and effort to write it. I feel he deserves compensation.
