"I met Josh when we were both in high-school. We were both geeks, and were drawn to each other naturally. He had a shy smile. I was in braces. He was my first kiss. I lost my virginity to him. We both went to the same university, with Josh studying law and me studying economics. We got married after getting our degrees. We weren’t planning on having kids until we were both established. I thought I was happy. It turned out, I was only content. Something was missing, and I didn’t even know it."

One day, while watching a movie with friends, she realized what it was. Going down a rabbit-hole of internet searches and forum posts led her to a mysterious stranger - enigmatic, and quite possibly dangerous. He helped her understand exactly what she was missing. But finding that missing piece would involve a betrayal that could destroy her marriage. The stranger has a solution to that. A solution he had offered to another married woman before.

This short story is based on a real-life event, although many details have been changed.
