A highly recommended story with a twist

First, this is a very good story. The characters are interesting and the plot intriguing (if somewhat predictable). It is essentially a combination of two plot lines - rags to riches and enemies to friends pulled together into a happily ever after ending. I won't give away any more but to say that the story is interesting and you like the characters. The story is delivered by an author who is known deservedly, in my mind, for his ability to craft a good story line and to deliver it. There is one thing that I wish to commend the author for. Many of the authors who have posted to the ZbookStore have essentially taken stories that they have previously written and posted in storiesonline.net and offered them for sale. I have no problem with this - writing is not an easy task (I should know - I am a retired professor who has written 25 books - that and $7 will get you a bad cafe latte at Starbucks). Also, they are monetizing their work. However, what Peter Argonis has done with this release is to refresh the book (i.e., bring it up to date) and to better lay the foundations for a world where the characters from one story (e.g., In Her Genes or Teaming with the Shrew) can now logically appear in another story and where their appearance is not a surprise. Mr. Argonis has gone to great lengths to revise his story and he should be complimented for it. I wish more authors would do so. It makes the reader feel that they are getting more than a repackaged product. He has built a world in these stories. Suddenly Rich Kid builds on and contributes to this world. I can see the author crafting other stories that are based on this world. A good story well delivered. Highly recommended.Thank you for the kind review! Revising SRK and writing TMTS went hand in hand. My next story will also be set in the combined Philadelphia and Clearwater Universes: Mob Girl, the story of Tess DiRosa, paired with a revised Can't Pick Your Family.
