Teaming With The Shrew

by Peter Argonis

Language: English

Published: 2025-06-22. 104,458 Words.

Categories: Fiction » Romance » Contemporary

Content Rating: Older than 17

Ricky Ryder, an established adult movie performer, is shocked by the sudden death of a coworker and friend, making him reexamine his life and goals. Quitting the adult movie business, he gets roped into doing a cameo in a cable network sitcom, just for giggles and bragging rights. Things mushroom from there into a new career and a loving relationship with a truly special woman.
You may know a bit of Ricky Ryder from a cameo in Suddenly Rich Kid and from a reference in Girl Refurbished. This is his story.
Several characters from the Philadelphia and Clearwater Universes have their appearances, such as Alexandra Greenbaum, aka Xasha, and Melanie Renault from In Her Genes, but also Lucy and Chris DiBiasi from Suddenly Rich Kid.
I hope you will like this fusion of two universes.

As always a ripping tale

Read in a single session. Fortunately purchased on a Saturday evening. Very good read. Slightly stretched the bounds of believability in one or two places but not totally beyond them.

An enjoyable ride.

This well written novel is an excellent story of a man's battle to overcome his history. The love affair between the "hero" and the love of his life is both funny and fun. I hope that a follow along story is in the works.

I could not put this book down

It's less than 24 hours since I purchased "Teaming With The Shrew" and I've already finished reading it. The story captured my attention and never let go.

Good story, very good new characters, and it was great to see so many old friends from other stories. Including the Bentley! Many thanks, Joe

A Very Good Book - Not Quite Up to the Thomas Grey Series

Reviewed it on June 24, 2025

Peter Argonis is one of a handful of authors that I consistently follow. Whenever he releases a book or starts a new series, I immediately open it. Some of his stories rate amongst best offered on this site - namely, In her genes, Young Thomas Grey, the Return of Thomas Grey, and the Adventures of Young Will Potter. This story introduces us to Rick who is in the process of ending his career as a adult actor. We follow Rick as he experiences the highs and lows of this transition. Like any other HEA story, Rick winds up winning both personally and professionally. It is a good story with some hiccups (I never knew that the San Diego Padres were a football team) but it is not quite up to the standards of the other stories noted in this review. It is not as well-developed. Is it worth your time to read it? Heck yes. While not as well developed as other stories that he has written, it is nevertheless a good story. Definitely time and effort. Buy it! Recommended! Anytime Peter Argonis releases a story, you know that you are in for a treat!
Peter Argonis Reply:

It has to be the Chargers of course. I must have read A Flawed Diamond by Jay Cantrell when I wrote Padres, the Baseball franchise. It's corrected. Fortunately, the Chargers played in San Diego until January 2017. Thanks for the lenient review!!
