Raiden Augustus Carnell was born to Andrew and Kathy Carnell on August 15, 2000. Andrew and Kathy were CIA undercover operatives working out of the US embassy in China. Raiden was, oops, baby, and when Kathy discovered she was pregnant, they decided to have the baby there. Once Raiden was old enough to fly, Kathy brought Raiden to her parents' house to raise. William and Martha Hunt were ecstatic at the opportunity to raise Raiden.
William and Martha Hunt owned a pharmaceutical company with a specialized genetic research section. They were disappointed that Kathy didn't pursue a science degree and join their company. When they discovered that Andrew and Kathy worked for the CIA, they gave up hope of having a grandchild. Then Kathy called and turned their lives upside down. William and Martha were in their late forties and had plenty of time to plan for Raiden's arrival.

Technically Improving

This latest is possibly one of the better put together ones. It still has some issues in consistency in names, spelling and boring things like that. The main concern is that it feels like the author has one story in him, and each set of books is him gradually developing it. It's hard to distinguish the plots and main characters from the previous books. The death of the five key women in his life is treated as a ho-hum from the MC, which doesn't feel right for how the character is built, seems odd. I thought his first book, once you dug through the writing style was best ... because there was quite a bit of humour shown between the MC and his 'Mum', and it felt natural. Manipulator was quite good as well. This one seemed samey ... I'll still probably buy book 2 of this and Emperor, but not as keenly as I would have before ...

Lots of copy and paste

The premise was good, the story was ok but just way too much copy and paste to make the story longer than it needed to be.

Repeated scenes in every chapter

Much of the text was repeated every chapter and while there was a reasonable plot it got lost

I wont be buying anymore. All the books are the same, just different names.I saw no reason for the author to kill the 5 women off,and then no reaction from Raiden??? Cold!!!

I bought it but...

...the plot seems similar to other stories by this author. Also needs a good editor. I was hoping for something better.

really hard to read

The repetition was tedious. You could have just referenced that Friday afternoon was a typical trip to the hot springs and Raiden did his usual morning routine. Probably many other areas where the routine activities could be ignored or shortened. Also he had no emotions. That isn't normal.
