Katharine Pyle

Katharine Pyle (born November 23, 1863 and died February 19, 1938, born in Wilmington, Delaware) was an American illustrator and author, primarily for books for young people, and an influential member of the Pyle artistic family. She was active in Philadelphia during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. She was a social activist, as well as publishing several accounts of Delaware's colonial history.
