Thin Walls

The only person that was happy that their father was remarrying was Luca. Ethan on the other hand despised the idea ever since their mom passed away. He thought his father would remain single up until he died which was not fair considering that his father was only forty five, not quite old if you think about it, when his son wanted him to be single. But it was understandable that he was mad that his father didn't want to deal with the loss of their mother anymore, it had been three years and time was ticking. Why would their father wait to appease his son?

He was walking to the kitchen, when he found his brother Luca arranging the clean utensils on the utensil rack and he just huffed in annoyance because his brother didn't agree with his sentiments.

"What, another tantrum?" Luca jumped the gun after hearing him, mindlessly going on with his chore while Ethan stood and bore his eyes behind his back like he wanted to jump on his neck. Luca didn't care that it hurt Ethan anymore, you could only take up pain for as long as it lasts and he had decided to move on, in fact, he had much worse matters to worry about considering that he was gay and out and it was tough to find a boyfriend, his brother on the other hand, had a beautiful girlfriend who loved him so much, but he didn't care to see past his grievances.

"So you agree with Dad's idea of remarrying that slut he picked up off the street and refurbished her into a cabbage wife rack?" Ethan lashed while pocketing, his eyes red but not with anger but with pain.

"I don't have a say about what our Dad does with his life Ethan,, for christ's sake, he has been grieving too, why do you have to give him such a hard time, haven't you had enough of it? Do you want to cry for four more years before you rest this case?" Luca lashed back at him, stopping his utensil wash and facing Ethan. He had been on edge lately too, but Ethan always just pushed the buttons. You could be at peace reading a magazine and sipping your coffee and Ethan would still find a way to bring up the sobbing story of their dead mother, you could be in the shower twerking to Beyonce but Ethan would still cry his way to the bathroom front and bring up the deceased people that had died in their family that no one cared for and Luca had just about enough.

"Please, give Dad a break, how would you feel if I brought up your deceased girlfriend every time to remind you that you loved her and you were moving on from her, is it worth ruining everyone's relationship for that? Look, I understand mom died and she didn't say goodbye but this, this is just too sick and twisted," Luca gestured between the invisible tension between them. Why did his brother have to press on this matter for so long, didn't he have a hobby. Ethan definitely needed therapy. You would think Ethan was the son who spent a lot of time with their mom, when he wasn't.

Ethan suddenly walked very fast to where Luca stood anger emerging in his expression and his eyes, and he stopped just close to his face, his eyes striking judging thoughts at him, thoughts that couldn't be formed properly into words, and he made Luca's heart beat rapidly, the drying cloth he was holding falling to the ground while Luca was lost in his brother's eyes, engulfed by the sudden act of his presence in front of him. He didn't hate his brother, he felt his pain, and he loved his brother so very much. But seeing him let the pain of their mother's death and their father's remarrying get inside his head and control him, was what annoyed him the most.

"What, do you want to hit me Ethan?" Luca stood his ground, brave and afraid at the same time because he couldn't predict his brother's move. Then his eyes dropped to his brother's lips, pinkly faded in color, and Ethan's eyes dropped to his too, and while Luca was staring at his brother's lips, he saw them curve in a wicked smile, and that made him drift his eyes back to his, meeting again in a jolt of electric challenge.

"No, I'm not going to hit you but remember Luca, I can always do anything to drain out my frustrations," Ethan smirked painfully, and just
